A Church for Today
with an Eye on Tomorrow

Rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
- 1 Timothy 4:7b-8 (NIV)

WHY WE EXIST AS A CHURCH

Equip Believers. Impact the Community. Glorify God.

The purpose of our church is summarized in our Mission Statement: To equip believers with the biblical foundation, tools, and resources necessary to make a meaningful impact on the generation we are called to serve and disciple.

We further believe that our church should glorify God by fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39), the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and the Great Consecration (Luke 4:18-19).

Our Mission Statement

To equip believers with the biblical foundation, tools and resources necessary to make a meaningful impact on the generation we are called to serve and disciple.

Our Vision Statement

Let us rise up and build.

Our Motto

Training for Life

Our Ministry Verse: I Timothy 4:7b-8 (NIV)

Rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

The Great Commandment: Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

The Great Commission: Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

The Great Consecration: Luke 4:18-19 (NIV)

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."

OUR VALUES AND BELIEFS

P.U.R.E., Unity, Liberty, Charity

Our Commitment to Values

We are committed to the following Core Values.

  • Participatory and Contemporary Worship
  • Use and Discovery of Spiritual Gifts
  • Revolutionary Preaching and Teaching
  • Every Member a Minister and Missionary

Our Beliefs

  • In essential beliefs - we have unity.
"There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all..."
    Ephesians 4:4-6

  • In non-essential beliefs - we have liberty.
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God."
    Romans 14:1, 4, 12, and 22

  • In all our beliefs - we show charity.
"...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all."
    I Corinthians 13:2

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We Believe in One Sovereign God, Eternally Existing in Three Persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Our Statement of Faith provides a summary of biblical doctrine that is consonant with evangelical Christianity. The statement accordingly reaffirms salient features of the historic Christian Creeds, and identifies this Church with not only the Holy Scriptures but also with the evangelical movement of more recent years. This Statement of Faith also casts light on the study and nature of man, as well as on man's culture. Our Statement of Faith is as follows:

A. We believe in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: the everlasting Father, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and the Holy Spirit, the giver of life; we further believe that God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing but His spoken word, and for His own glory (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19).

B. We believe God has revealed Himself and His truth through the created order, in the Holy Scriptures and supremely through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. We further believe that the Old and New Testament scriptures are verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing, so that they are fully trustworthy and of supreme and final authority in all that they say (Hebrews 1:1-2, II Timothy 3:16-17).

C. We believe that the person of Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, was true God and true man, existing in one person and without sin; we further believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there for us as High Priest, Advocate and Lord of All (Luke 1:34-35, Philippians 2:5-11, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 4:14-15).

D. We believe that God directly created Adam and Eve, the historic parents of the entire human race. We further believe that they were created in God's own image, distinct from other living creatures, and in an original state of righteousness (Genesis 1:27, 2:25).

E. We believe that Adam and Eve sinned by rebelling against God's revealed will and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death, and that as a result all human beings are born with a sinful nature that leads them to sin in thought, word and deed (Genesis 3:6-7, Ephesians 2:1-3).

F. We believe in the existence of Satan, sin and evil powers, and believe that all of these have been defeated in the cross of Christ (Ephesians 6:12, I Peter 5:8, Colossians 2:14-15)

G. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, triumphing over all evil: we further believe that all who trust in him are justified by His shed blood and forgiven of all of their sins (Romans 5:1, and 8; I Corinthians 15:3-4, I John 4:10)

H. We believe that all who receive Jesus Christ as personal savior and Lord by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God, enabled to offer spiritual worship acceptable to Him (John 3:5-6, John 4:23-24, Romans 8:15-16, I Peter 2:5)

I. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells and gives life to believers and enables them to understand the Scriptures, empowers them for Godly living and equips them for service and witness (John 14:26, Ephesians 4:11-12).

J. We believe in the observance of the following ordinances: water baptism by immersion, once after the confession of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; and the rememberance feast or Lord's supper, many times in accordance with apostolic custom (Acts 8:35-38, I Corinthians 11:23-26).

K. We believe that the one holy universal is the body of Christ and is composed of the communities of Christ's people. The task of Christ's people in this world is to 1) be God's redeemed community (Ephesians 5:15-16) 2) embody his love by worshipping God with confession, prayer and praise (I John 1:9, Ephesians 6:18, Ephesians 5:19) 3) proclaim the gospel of God's redemptive love through our Lord Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth by word and deed (Acts 1:8) and 4) care for all of God's creation and actively seek the good of everyone, especially the poor, needy and those of the household of faith (Galatians 2:10, I Timothy 5:8).

L. We believe in the blessed hope that Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth personally, visibly and unexpectedly, in power and great glory to gather His elect, to raise the dead, to judge the nations and to bring His kingdom to fulfillment (Titus 2:13, I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Matthew 25:31-32, Revelation 21:1-3).

M. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting punishment of the lost and the everlasting blessedness of the redeemed (Revelation 20:11-13, Matthew 25:34, 41, and 46)

N. We believe in the priesthood of all believers, the high priesthood of Christ, the pre-millennial return of Christ, the rapture of the living saints and the rule and reign of Christ on David's throne a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6, I Peter 2:9, Hebrews 10:12-14).

GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION

Real happiness comes from understanding your purpose in life.  Is your life self-directed or Christ-directed?

Most people live their entire lives without ever knowing "WHY?" They exist year after year with no idea of why they live or God's purpose for their lives. The most basic question a person can ask is, "What is the meaning of life?"
